The telephone HelpLine provides support, information and referral to mental health care providers, people with anxiety disorders and their families and carers.
The HelpLine team work on a voluntary basis, and are provided with training and on-going support and supervision by the Director and the HelpLine Coordinator.
The telephone support volunteer's role is to assist callers to understand and manage symptoms of anxiety disorders and depression, to identify problems and barriers to recovery, to more effectively deal with the impact of their disorder on family and relationships, and to develop self-management skills. The role also includes providing appropriate and accurate information about anxiety disorders and evidence-based treatment interventions, and referral to professional, community and health services.
Hours of operation Monday to Friday 10.00am - 4.00pm
**Please Note: Due to the ARCVic office closure for the Christmas/New Year period, the Helpline will not be available from Thursday 22rd December 2011 until 15th January 2012.
