Recovery Programs
ARCVic provide short term, skills based group therapy programs for people with anxiety disorders.
Understand your triggers and signs of stress and anxiety. Develop relaxation skills. Learn new ways of responding to anxious thoughts. Discuss new coping strategies. Gain assistance with identifying your strengths. Enhance your life management skills - goal setting, problem solving, decision making, and time management. Understand how certain health and lifestyle changes can assist with reducing stress and anxiety. Learn with others in a supportive environment.
Term 1: Wednesday 8th February - 14th March 2012, 6 sessions x 2.5 hours 6:30pm – 9:00pm

Shyness and Social Anxiety
Gain a better understanding and knowledge of shyness and social anxiety. Identify patterns of thinking, feeling and bahaving that maintain shyness and social anxiety - and learn ways to establish new, more helpful patterns. Develop skills to manage the physical anxiety responses. Gradually face anxiety producing situations. Overcome barriers to acheiving your goals and participating in life. Enhance confidence in social situations.
Term 1: Thursday 16th February - 22nd March 2012, 6 sessions x 2 hours 6:30pm – 8:30pm

Cost: $180 for 6 week program – Medicare rebates available subject to eligibility criteria
Hoarding Self-help Group
This program will be run over a 12 month period and will be open so that participants can attend sessions they find most helpful. There wil be an alternating Sharing Group/Workshop each fortnight.
1 hour sessions held every second Tuesday at 1:00pm

Mindfulness for Anxiety
This program is an introduction to the practice of mindfulness to help reduce stress and manage anxiety and panic. Dr Craig Hassed: Craig is a general practitioner and Senior Lecturer in the Monash University Department of General Practice. He has been instrumental in introducing various innovations into medical education and practice with an emphasis on the application of holistic, integrative and mind-body practice.
Term 2: Monday 21st May - 2nd July 2012, 6 sessions x 1.25 hours 6:00pm - 7:30pm
